My launches aren't that cool Hahaha. I've held revs and launched a few times but usually it's put in 4hi, quick rev and clutch dump following almost instantly.

4wd splits the load and the tires just hook up so it's a little easier on everything vs the 2wd launches where breaking traction tends to happen.

Yukon gears is what was installed.

Drilled two head bolts out to get the passenger side head removed.

Going to have to do the same on the drivers side as well. Bolts drilled easier than I expected so wasn't too bad. Then a fair amount of using the parts wash will ensue. Blah

Getting close to having the disposable income to make some big purchases soon.

Yeah, I have to have the pistons to send along with the block for the sleeve install.

And the pistons/crank combo is what I'm going for so will have to order that first then wait and save again for the boring and sleeve install.

And then save again for all the other random shit I'm going to replace, timing chain, tensioners, oversized valves, probably a knock sensor or two, gaskets, etc.

    I endorse this plan fully.

I'm doing some more rotating inertia upgrades I think. We'll see who's faster in the end :D

That's one thing. Also looking into a local shop making me a low moment of inertia drive shaft. A two piece. I'll engineer it and tell them the exact specs.

Yes they came in. They're mounted and balanced now. I'm waiting for the snow to feck off, weather forecast says Tuesday should be good. They'll be on long enough for one photo shoot and one car meet :D

Driveshaft sounds interesting. Using alternative steels/materials? Larger diameter/thinner wall?

I'll see what kind of steels they have in stock and pick the best one, do some literal engineering on the best inertia, possible loading, deflections and critical speed calculations. Have them get some upgraded u-joints too. Possibly. Could just re-use the ones on the stock shaft and see if they hold up... haha

Custom driveshaft would allow for using larger u joints which I think would be stonger. The bearing was what got munched on mine so a larger diameter bearing would be stronger me thinks.

I'm surprised my bearing is still hanging in.

No, my wideband AFR's have been very bouncy for a while now. Truck runs strong and there was no indication of issues with fueling or intake leaks so exhaust leak was the main suspect. Just took me a while to find the spare 15 min and ambition to actually find it.

Recently replaced the wideband sensor because the original had a slow response time. New sensor ran well until immediately after I replaced my driveshaft u-joint and that's when the issue first popped up.

Noise level never really changed as far as I could tell.

In other news I may have just bought a stroker kit due to asking about a black Friday discount and the getting additional discount due to Canadian shipping and Brian Crower guys being awesome. 15% discount so some decent coin saved. The stars aligned as I had recently accumulated enough in the ol' bank account (still have a decent buffer of savings in the joint account shared with wifey).

    Just waiting confirmation of sale.

Also, Brian Crowers on hold messaging is hilarious. (something like "we apologize for the wait as the person who's supposed to be on the other end has to get off his ass...")

Not saying I’m jealous. But I probably am.

that’s awesome tho. I will have to give Crower a call just to see what this sounds like.

According to calculations it should be 4.47 liter but I may bump down the piston bore slightly for 4.43 liter for extra head gasket safety.

Torspd gave me some good advice as I picked his brain a bit cause I want to do this build right and not have issues.
