4 inch rear lift on tacoma. Carrier bearing drop. Should i add 2. Degree axel shims to try and get angles right?

Sorry but no simple abswer to that. Go read the posts on how to set proper driveshaft alignment. A lot depends on how the leafs lay. I used a 1” block and needed 2* down to match the xfer case output and dropped the CB about 3/8” to get 1/2* alignment between shafts. IMHO best to treat 2 shafts as one with 1/2* angle, then match coupler angles. May want an extra degree or two down on diff to deal with axle wrap. I didn’t do this and have no vibes or shudders, but I don’t do a lot of high torque driving. After installing the block, i did have shuddering on take off as i was measuring for and making the tapers. Completely disappeared after i got the angles right.

Thanks for your response. Ive been chasing the take-off shudder for years. 0 to 10mph. Now since i swapped the stock leafs/aal/2inch block lift with new 3.5inch leaf pack and had to put the 2inch blocks back in to get the truck level getting vibrations 40 to 65mph. Tried multiple carrier bearing adjustments. Angles are 3,6,7,4 degrees down from trans output to pinion. Operating angles 3, 1, 3 down front to back. Guess ill try a couple different size axle shims and see if it goes away. About to say fuck it and get a double cardan added to my rear shaft.
