LOL, my wife and I are mid 60s, our two kids and their significant others are late 20s, my neighbor is late 40s, and a good family friend and his wife are in their late 30s; all of them have asked to borrow my Tacoma. :)

More control, more fun, way cooler than an a/t, and a good talking point when enjoying beers around a campfire.

I consider it an act of rebellion.

6 reasons - they're called "gears" - as opposed to slushies.
Gears have discipline; slushies have a mind off their own.

I've been driving for 55 years, and manual transmissions are all I've ever owned. Why change now?? Plus, there is an element of truth to manual transmissions being a "millennial anti-theft device".

This has probably been said, but a huge advantage of an MT is being able to anticipate hills. I like to be able to gear down and hold early when going up long mountain on overpass. I also feel I can shift the weight from front to back wheels with more authority with an MT.

It's just a matter of preference. I find MTs more engaging. Sure one can say, "It's more work." My reply, "It's more fun to drive."

I just like 'em, but I also see it as less to break and have problems with (if there was a manual steering option I would have checked that too). And if you're comfortable and know what you're doing they do just fine off road. Did the Alpine loop from Silverton to Urey by way of lake City bone stock.

Ouray Andy! Although I’m sure your phone/computer was like what the hell is Ouray, I’m sure you meant Urey!

Just more fun to drive. I like to drive my vehicles, not let them drive me around.

I only drove manual trucks (Mazda b2200) and cars (evo, rx7, corrado) my whole life (45yo). I was extremely happy to finally get an AT Tacoma and can't imagine ever driving manual anything ever again. Ever try driving manual in SF, it sucks.

Wife and I both get sad when we miss the old 5/6 speeds :(

Have considered getting a couple Subarus just to have fun in the winter :)

I drove manual in SF and Cali for 8 years. Zero issues other than enjoying it too much.

Buy a 2018 or earlier unless you want the WRX.

For the same reason I like mechanical watches, I like interacting with and being an integral part of its operation. I've always had a manual until now and I miss it greatly.
