I have been plowing for 40 yrs. The only truck I would put a plow on is 3/4 ton or larger. Seen way to may problems with anything under those.

    You're not serious right ?
I live in one of the coldest parts of Canada.
Snow plow blades even for your own residential here are almost 100% F250/350 + or Ram 2500 +

I had one on my second gen no issues and plowed my driveway no issues. Western home defender 6’8” i will say driving on the high way with it did raise underhood temps as the ambient air sensor would read 90degrees. Never overheated. That being said i just installed the same plow on my 23.

Very bad idea to install snowplow on a light duty truck

Good way to really screw your truck up. These are light duty trucks , hit a curb or frozen block on the road with the plow and something will bend.

"I have a SnowDogg plow mount for 3rd gen Tacomas. MFG website here. It is part number 16065225. It's almost brand new, I literally used it twice on the Taco before a dedicated plow truck fell into my hands.
    Asking $200 OBO."

He might have the info you're looking for as well.

    too much to type
Sure it can be done, I would only do driveways not parking lot plowing, but your truck will take a beaten from plowing even if you’re so careful. I’ve always use a F series trucks for my plowing.

I put a Fisher plow on my '87 Toy and beat the crap out of it with no problems. Not so sure about my 3rd gen with IFS. I love front leafs and a solid axle.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
Put the money into a snowblower. These trucks aren’t built for plow duty, even if it’s a short residential driveway.

I bought a Snowsport to use on my Wrangler and Tacoma to clear the driveway. Works well for what I need and it takes less than 15 minutes to put on after a storm.

You can put a plow on anything, doesn't mean you should.

I plowed my property and did residential plowing for almost 30 years with three different Toyota trucks. Never had an issue (except rust). All were manual trans, never had a clutch fail either. It’s all how you operate the equipment and what you’re trying to do.
A 6.5-7 foot plow with 400-600 pounds of ballast behind the rear axle is what is recommended by most plow makers and is exactly what I did.

Tacomas have basically sheet metal frames,a snow plow will destroy your truck in less than a day.

Because they are fine for they are meant for, trying too use a Tacoma for heavy duty use is NOT what they are built for.

I would not. I have a front mounted blower on my Kioti tractor and a snow blade on my UTV but never on my baby. Just saying
