I painted one...

 

I don’t have any myself but some of my buddies are using Tactacam Reveal cameras and are happy with them.

 

Super easy. Only bummer for me is the antlers of the bigger buck were super white to start and are now stained the same gold ish color even though they were out of the dirt.

I left it January to September and it was plenty long. I checked in May and it needed more time.

I mixed some sand in with the dirt because I read it helps but who knows.

Thanks , I know but I didn’t want to put a hole in the ear since he’s going on the wall . Northampton county . 29 acres of private . My friend was a little upset ,he says the deer was too young and I should have passed on him . It’s his neighbors property.

 

Where I hunt in Pa if you pass on that one you might not see another buck in season.

 

Yup, those same people that tell you to pass, woulda shot it too...if not someone else would.

I bet you could just wrap the bases, or the whole things in plastic wrap to help preserve the natural color.

 

I wrapped mine in packing wrap and taped it, then hung it in a tree in my yard for 10 months.
