I have an 03 Tacoma 4x4 with the stock 265/70R16 spare tire that is old and dry-rotted. I want to get a replacement 265/75R16 so it matches the rolling diameter of the tires I am running.

Does anyone know if this size will fit the stock mounting location with no modifications? This would be a 31.6" size tire.

When I replaced my old 265/75/16’s. I put the best tire out of that set as the spare. It fits just fine in the stock location. Sorry.
    Not the best pics.

Be aware that each manufacturer's tire size could be off as much as 0.5" in diameter for the same listed size.

I believe the largest size that fits in that location is a 33" (255/85 R16).

That will work on a 2nd gen. But there isn't that much difference between a 265/70/16 and a 265/75/16. I wouldn't worry about it. Keep in mind that tires get smaller as they wear. A tire that starts out as a 265/75/16 will be the same diameter as a new 265/70/16 once it is near the end of its useful life.

And if you do find yourself having to swap to an off-size spare tire- swap it into the front and keep it outta 4wd.
