Yep, 2nd time in 6 months. This time a 18 wheeler that fled the scene. Truck still in shop, needs new frame and WHOLE LOT MORE. No ETA on when they will get a frame. Maybe Santa will bring me frame for Christmas. I've been good

 

I've had nav for several vehicles now. It is as configured as it can possibly be. My hunch is the later (last) headunits in the 3rd gen suck more than the previous units (pre-car play). I've spoken to Toyota and while the issues they say are unique to mine, I've been able to reproduce them in other 2023 Tacos with nav.

1. Music not muting to announce turn by turn directions. This one is a HUGE problem for me.
2. When using the mobile phone through the vehicle bluetooth through the radio, the wrong (and totally random) picture is displayed for the contact you are talking to.
3. ZERO of the USB audio functions work when you have a thumbdrive with a lot of songs on it. You can't pick a folder, play an album, an artist, etc. As soon as you select any of those menu options it plays the first track in the first folder every time.

What I don't know at this point is are these issues with the JBL radios, "premium audio" radio, standard radio, etc. While I was told "a future firmware update COULD fix the issues" there hasn't been a firmware update since last year and I don't anticipate one in the near future.

Today.
I let it hangout over night, it was rolled up when shipped.
In the morning I layed it out on top of my car and heat up while I cleaned the hood.
A little bit of soapy water and measuring then threw it on.
I let it sit in the sun for an hour before I pealed off the clear cover.

Turned out good.
I'll wash the truck tonight.

 

My 2022 has the premium JBL system and I have none of these issues except that I haven't tried the thumb drive yet. I do know that Toyota was very specific about how it had to be arranged when I read up on it, I just haven't got around to preparing one yet. One note in the manual says the following:
MP3 files are compatible with the ID3 Tag Ver. 1.0, Ver. 1.1, Ver. 2.2 and Ver. 2.3 formats. This system cannot display disc title, track title and artist name in other formats."

 

Its just the rotors for now. The pads are brand new OEM. I've only got 5k on the odometer.

 

Added TRD Pro style grill with white letters, TRD badge and red demon shackles.

Chrome delete: inner and outer a/c rings, AJT design door handle covers and cup holder ring as well as billet aluminum control nobs. Oh and TRD pro shift nob too.

 

Removed the “TACOMA” emblems from the doors. Much cleaner. It was an eye soar on Solar Octane hahaha

 

Installed an “Ottocast” to make CarPlay wireless. Works great with no issues. Also installed a Pedal Commander. Love the way it feels so far.

Man I feel you on that, I’m ok the verge of selling my 70 Mach 1 to put my youngest brother through college. Berkeley is pretty expensive and well my pops isn’t that supportive when it come to school so gonna have to let my Mustang go.
