All Pro UCA Misalignment Spacer Have Threads?

    Hello TW! In my search to identify a loud creak whenever the wheel is turned, I've identified by passenger All Pro UCA uniball to be what is causing it. After freeing the bolt from the spindle, I needed to use a pair of vice grips to hold the bottom portion of the Misalignment Spacer to free the bolt from the uniball. Does anyone know if this is how that spacer came, with threads machine into the bottom portion of it? I'm ready to put things back together to see if some super lube will quiet the ball joint down (recommended as a solution to an identical problem here a couple years ago). Attached is a photo of what I'm curious about. All Pro is closed until Monday or else I would've just called in the morning. TIA!

    Hey Bud. I too just installed these UCA’s earlier this week as a part of All Pro’s lift kit, Bilstein 6112 up front. I don’t believe those were threaded initially, but during install I too noticed that the spacers had threads. I also believe the bolts All Pro included were so flimsy, and the uni balls so tight that the bolts actually bent slightly.
    In watching some videos from Total Chaos (design apparently ripped off by All Pro) I saw how some dry PTFE lube needed to be applied to the uniballs. This info was not conveyed by AllPro. I’m pretty pissed with the quality of the kit. I actually had to rework some machining on one of the bushings for the UCA through bolt as it didn’t have a uniform inner diameter sufficient for the through bolt to pass.
    In the included video from All Pro I believe our suspicion is confirmed as the spindle bolt drops through the misalignment spacers without threading. Sorry bud, I feel your pain.

    Can confirm that the spacer did not come like this. I ended up needing to rebuild the ball joint in the UCA, and the new lower spacers did not have machines threads and the bolt fell through. I am with you, feel like the quality of even the new parts were pretty bad. Also, it took a LOT of elbow grease to move the uniball into position for the spindle. They kinda skip right over that part.

    Yup. Now that I’ve got the lube on the uniball it seems to be handling pretty well. I think the price was right for all that came with the kit. Happy trails to you!
