:bananadance:Here i am trying:annoyed: to decide on tires for my 2020 TRDOR .I live in snowy northern Wyoming. I do only slight off-roading but i want to perform well in snow, slush , rain, and ice. looking good is on my mind so here are my picks, please discuss. i also have the stock rims for TRDOF and am curious what different tire sizes will fit other than the 265\70\16 i currently have on there.(no need to stay on topic) :help:Any advice is welcomed :thumbsup:O i also went over many other tires , these are just the ones i settled on.

265/75/16 will also fit without any issues. I have been running the regular duratracs for years. The RT are new so there's not many reviews on them. The regular duratracs are great for winter driving, they perform really well in slush/ice and especially well in deep snow. The RT retains the three peak designation so they are probably comparable.

i looked at the duratracs and they do look effective in mud and snow , the reason i wanted to go with these is because they have a ton more sipeing and seem to have maybe less ability to work in mud because less channels but better on road performance. i think the tradeoff might be worth it

I’ve always found Goodyear tires to be shit on wet or ice. Fine otherwise.

Honestly man the absolute best tire for you is a Michelin defender. They’re almost as good as a dedicated ice tire in winter and they’ll blow your mind on wet roads. That traction works just as well on rocks when you’re off-road. In mud they’re shit, but so are most AT’s. Carry chains if there may be mud.

But if you’re going to stick with an All Terrain, and you want to go with an LT version, a C load tire would be a better call than an E load… in the rare instance where there’s a choice.

I think the RT version will be a better road tire than the original and I assume they would be just as capable on slushy icy roads, maybe not as capable in deep snow though. Not sure what size and load range are offered though. I also run duratacs because I can find them in C load. One of the few tires available in that load for 16 inch rims. I wouldn’t recommend e load tires for your use. The Michelin defender mentioned above is also a great tire, I run them on my highlander, that being I would say the duratac has better winter performance. I think the RT version would be similar and offer better road performance.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I'm running General Grabber ATx in 265/75/16. Better than the original Goodyears in all regards. The only time I've had problems with them is in thick mud, but that's the A/T in them. They are E rated, a bit heavier than a C rated tire but I have no problems other than a slight loss of gas mileage in colder temps (until they warm up). YMMV.

Duratracs are amazing in winter when brand new. But after a couple years, they turn to slics. I wouldn't buy them again.

I'd focus on the AT tire with the most siping. I've been super happy with my Motomaster Eliminator X-Trail based off the Cooper AT3 platform. But I don't think you can get them in the US??

The Duratracs RT do interest me though...

Yeah they have a ton of sipeing. Same reason I am interested in them.

Yoko G017, I ran duratracs forever and these appear to have taken everything I like about the duratrac and made it better. I'm running a studded set for winter now and then are excellent so far.
