In one of the stickies above, this was posted as the largest tire size to get with stock suspension.

    "For 2016+ Tacomas: 265/70/17, 265/75/16 or 265/65/18"

I really want a set of TRD pro wheels and would like to run the largest tires possible without changing the suspension. I have mud flaps (OEM) on my 22 TRD Sport, does anyone know if the tire sizes above rub on the mud flaps?

    Tacoma TRD Pro 16s? (16x7 +13mm)

    TRD 4R Sema 17s? (17x7 +4mm)

    Or 2021+ 4R 17s? (17x7 +4mm)

I had the TRD 4R Sema wheels (17x7 +4mm). With 265/70R17, they hit the mud flaps on turns if there was any minor bump or braking during the turn. That was ultimately why I got rid of those to run stock sport rims, the Sports fit tires better.

If you mean the Tacoma TRD Pro 16’s then you’ll have better luck.

None of the actual stock Tacoma wheels will rub mud flaps with any of those tire sizes.

I was looking at the 4R 17s, bottom pic you have.

I don't know much about this.

Would those wheels with 265/65/17 fit with the mud flaps and still look okay?

So the bottom ones I sent don’t exactly fit on Tacomas right. The bore on the wheel is not machined deep enough which prevents the wheel from seating tight against the Tacoma rear drums. The solution to that is to either machine the bore of the wheel deeper, or to bevel the hubs of the rear axle shafts so that the sharp corner goes away and lets the wheel seat all the way.

Now, once that’s fixed the wheels can be run fine. With 265/70R17, they will occasionally rub the mud flaps on turns with bumps due to the +4mm offset, similar to the middle wheel pic which is what I had with 265/70R17. I eventually downsized them to 265/65R17 with no problems. Here’s a photo of that.

FWIW, the “rub” is a minor scuff. But I always noticed it happening and I’m picky, so it was enough to annoy me.

Oh wow, did not know this.

I was considering ordering the knock offs here in the group buy section. I may reconsider.

Thanks for the advice and help, I really appreciate it.

@Pahonix most forum members simply remove the mud flaps when going to a larger size tire. If that's not an option, then the 265/65R17 would definitely fit with no mods.
