Do I need the floating kit and the dash kit for this flush mount install?

I don't think the flush or floating kit is necessary. If you have the larger entune premium head unit, then it will fit into the same cavity. You use the OEM brackets, modify them with a hole or two, and it will sit flush.

You just need the head unit, the maestro rr, the cables and adapters.

I'm planning to wire my 6600nex up to an 8-ch amp and move all my speakers over. Does anyone happen to remember what the pre-out supply is on the 6600NEX? The manual makes it look like a custom cable rather than an RCA and I'm not sure I kept it.

Or do the 6 channel pre-outs come off the same adapter that has the camera RCA on it?

The 6 channel pre-outs come off the same adapter as the camera RCA, for anyone curious.

I'm actually not sure if I need to plug in the 4pin now that I've removed the factory amp...

It doesn't have a factory amp since I removed the JBL but it does have an amp... I wish they would explain what that 4 pin actually does.

Is there a good write up or video that can show me how to install this? I got the head unit and other stuff to install it with from Crutchfield. Thanks.

The PRE OUTS from the pioneer are all labeled FR, REAR, SUB. Those you can just connect to the amp you will be using. The Camera will have its own connection. Hope this answers the question.

If, you have the wiring rom Crutchfield, it should all be pig and play. The only thing with the Meastro RRR is that you may have to use a windows system to program it, and you can find plenty of youtube videos on how to do that.

They look identical to stock. The Toyota software draws them with the overlays and everything and the Pioneer just displays them so they look identical.

    You want something like this:

    https://a.co/d/eH94iEJ

you’ll need to confirm exactly which one as the buttons come in two sizes depending on generation and location.

    Thanks!

yeah I’ve been searching I can’t find anything. Honestly I don’t mind keeping it like this, but if there’s someone out there I’ll do it.

Any chance you found one that works? I had the exact same question and would be stoked if the option @cowfootball linked above would work

Do you still have the original port? You could always try this

Sadly there is no OEM usb-c port that transfers data, all the ones I have seen are for charging only.

However, the WC6600NEX only does USB 2.0 at best with a max charge speed of only 3.0A. So the stock USB port would be more than enough for the headunit.

I personally went with an OEM HDMI+USB combo port.

I have an unpowered HDMI 3way Switch to change input between the HDMI port, a Chromecast and Nintendo Switch.

    Pics of it installed.

This is a Japan Only market part, so it teminates with a HDMI-E and 4pin USB connection. HDMI-E is an automotive spec connector used only in Japan (maybe the rest of Asia too?), so finding an adapter was particularly hard...
    20230906_170734.jpg 20230831_233401.jpg

For the 4 Pin USB, it is the same connector used on Mazdas, so their USB retention adapter works. However the data+/- and positive/negative for the adapter were flipped, so I had to resolder the wires to the correct pins.

Just installed this head unit on my truck everything seems fine and looks great except the reverse camera seems to lag a second before appearing on the screen and also the picture looks more fuzzy or blurry than it did with the OEM head unit.

A shop did the work so I can ask them on Monday but anyone have any suggestions?
