His implementation is off, but he has some pretty legitimate gripes about society.

Funny question about that movie is how long into it can you make it before you think he isn’t right in the head.

The answer is like a barometer as to how crazy the world is today.

An hour away in a west coast city is like 12 miles, max. I'd be walking.

I had to get home during the peaceful protests in 2020.
I had a teacher in high school who once said that he was drafted to go to Vietnam, but he punched out the drill instructor so they kicked him out of the Army.

He was a tall skinny hippie dude.

I don’t think people realize what kind of pure hell you would unleash if you gave one of those guys legitimate reason to kick your ass.

Leisurely walk. If super sketch, at night time. (It's the west coast, so I'm likely unarmed). :(

Did that ride for 15 years one hour. I can walk about 3-4 mph if I have to, sleep in the pucker brush.

Well, I typically get along with hippie types pretty well and I don’t go around starting trouble.

As for the guys in the meme I posted, they’re usually loudmouth idiots in my experience. Pointlessly aggressive and they have MOLLE everything despite being overweight desk jockeys. I’ve known several of these guys who escalated a situation that did not call for it whatsoever and ended up getting their asses kicked.

I sometimes think about how things were handled in my grandad's day. When I was a kid, somebody parked next to us at the mall and then made the mistake of dinging grandad's door. Grandad naturally called him out on it. Instead of apologizing (which would have diffused the situation) this guy furrowed his brow and sneered his lip as he was preparing to blurt out some mouthy retort. In a lightning flash he caught a quick pop to the mouth before he could finish his second syllable. In the silent seconds that followed, you could see his eyes reboot and start to rethink the situation. Grandad simply said "now git!" and sure enough, the guy immediately hopped in his car and got, not a second word was said. Once grandad demonstrated that his reach was better than most it tended to humble folk in a hurry.

I saw grandad do that as as an overweight old man. But I heard the stories, and I marvel at what he was like in his prime. I wonder about the world that existed where that was the norm.

I often think about how the everpresent threat of catching one to the pie hole tended to make a more polite society. The world of don-start-none-if'n-don-want-none. I don't think it was the right way to settle differences. It was not a just way of doing things. But in a weird way, it was pure.

Definitely dream about the days I spent with my granddad as a kid. I absolutely love hearing my dad tell his "heroic" stories. Best man I've ever known, and plenty of stories to back up his credibility as being a "just" man. I agree it'd be nice to live in a world that has a few more consequences for actions.

Find a shopping cart and rub some dirt on your face. You'll blend right in with the rest of locals. Bonus points if you start talking to yourself along the way.
