So far I started hearing a noise from rear of the truck, noise starting at 60 kmh and up to120. I was blaming my nitto grapplers installed in summer for making noise but recently switched to winter tires, noise still there. Today with a mechanic we finally decided that a righ rear bearing is the culprit. Very surprised its happened so yearly. Now looking around for good mechanic to press a new bearing. If you know a good mechanic in Toronto or GTA area, let me know

They are a bit of a bitch to do. Find someone with a good press and the tool. Put some heat on the bearing while pressing on the shaft and it will pop right off. The new ones go on like butter.

Check your regional forum. Might have better luck on there. I have the tool and a press and I’m not a shop so just might get lucky!

How often was the rear differential fluid changed?
    Do you tow a lot?

Not trying to place blame. Just curious.

Thankfully the job doesn’t take a genius. It really only takes a shop that has a press and one that has or is willing to acquire the Toyota patterned puller. You could probably buy and supply the shop with that tool and then take it and sell it when done if the shop didn’t have it and wasn’t willing to buy it. Might also have better luck finding a Toyota owner nearby that happens to have a press and maybe y’all can work out a deal on the tool.

While it doesn't take a genius to change the bearing, any idiot can mess the job up. An expert idiot can ruin the axle.
    It's happened more than once.

My point is, stay away from the guy with a big hammer, a long pipe and angle grinder.

Diff fluid changed at 60k, no towing at all. Sounds like roaring with pulsating. More speed -more pulsating and roaring. Very surprised its hppened so yearly. My previous vehicle Mazda Mpv van had 440k on odometer and I never had any noises frombearings!

    Things fail.

I always eat front bearings because of water crossings, every truck I've owned from every brand.

Ontario has rust issues but the rear bearing is submerged in oil so rust is not likely the culprit.

By the way, I noticed like when driving straight - noise, when cornering on a ramp - no noise, so thats definitely rear bearing
