Hey y'all so I have two solid options on a first gen I'm trying to decide between. First is a 2001 prerunner v6 TRD auto with about 130k miles on it. Guy is asking 10k obo, paint is peeling a bit, and interior is a little rough around the edges, but mechanically its been kept up very well. lots of service records. He is the second owner, and bought it in 2010 with 70k on the clock.

Second option is a 1999 sr5 v6 4wd with the 5 speed manual. looks SUPER clean inside and out, but it has 190k miles, and is more expensive by two grand. I don't know anything about this trucks service history other than it had a timing belt change 20k miles ago, and new radiator and breaks at some point.

Neither truck has any rust. I'm thinking I should go for the 01, am I making a dumb choice?

    Welcome to the Forum.

You are aware of all the problem areas ? frame rust Lower Ball Joints

There will always be neglected areas

It comes down to if you need 4 Wheel Drive or not?

Rather a auto or manual Transmission?

Super clean inside and out I would run away.

Got some pics of the undercarriage, and it looks like the 4x4 one has a pretty substantial leak from the rack and pinion.

Kind of prefer an auto transmission anyway, and 2 grand cheaper for 60k LESS miles ain't bad either :D
