Whatever you do, stay away from the URD Spec-U exhaust. Drones like a m-fer. Took it off and went back to stock after trying a bunch of things including adding a resonator and chopping the tailpipe.

The pipe is too big (2.75” midpipe, 2.25” headers) and the Magnaflow muffler it comes with all contribute to the drone. Sounded nice when you were winding it out but the drone the other 99% of the time was unbearable.

Another vote for the Borla S-Type. Sounds great for a 6 cyl and Install is super easy. No drone.

I am running a Flowmaster Delta 50, it’s stainless steel so very slow to rust, chambered so nothing to burn out, or ever drone, it is a little louder and is deeper sounding than stock, and it was a very easy install with a couple 3” band clamps - it even weighs less than the stock one.

Yeah, my stock unit was pretty heavy. I'm not making any better horsepower claims, but having less baffle in the muffler should definitely increase air flow. Brrraaap!

Are you still liking the Delta 50? Did you do the 2.5 inch center in center out version?

I had an mbrp exhaust on my 2018 Tacoma bit the cabin drone at certain rpms was horrible also the exhaust was all rusted in only 3 years. Now I have the AWE true dual exhaust and love it.

There is nothing that is going to perform or sound as good as the TRD upgrade and that will be very minimal. Nothing will make the 3.5 sound like a beefy v8. I finally went with the MBRP dual stainless, it was so god awfull.. I gave it a few weeks to "break in". When a "homeless guy" ran across a Walmart parking lot to ask me if that was the new 4 cylinder, i gave up. Took it to my exhaust guy and he welded in a MagnaFlow 12588 muffler to replace that "fart can" and I have grown to love the new rumble. Dual exhaust - yes...v8 - no!

I get 18-20 mpg on my stock exhaust. AND I don't annoy people. So, was that worth the $$$$ ?? Sorry, I don't see the point. It's a v-6, get over it.

With this mentality then there’s no reason for a lift. There’s no reason for tires. There’s no reason for wheels. There’s no reason for seat covers. There’s no reason for dash treatments. There’s no reason for stickers.

There’s no reason for nearly everything we put on trucks. It’s about personalization and making it what the owner wants. It’s not about you.

TRD Catback or Borla S Type; all others drone and sound like garbage imo. I have the TRD.

Back to stock for me. I tried the MBRP for a weekend. That came off as quick as it went on. Way too much drone for me. Then I went with the Borla 40665. I ran that for about 2 years. Just a little drone at high rpms. Guess I'm getting older. I had had enough of that drone on my last camping trip. I went back to stock and enjoy the quiet now, ha.

Borla here. Nice tone. Not obnoxious. Anything more would be... blah.

And if one doesn't, like catback/exhaust, etc, I dunno.... don't get one.... seems simple to me..:notsure:

Although my truck is currently stock, I used to have an exhaust from AWE that sounded very nice and looked beautiful. All up to preference, I went back to stock after starting it up one very cold winter morning and it sounded like a tractor resulting in displeased neighbors.

If you want to know what not to get, it’s the FlowMaster Flow FX dual kit. I drive 110 miles a day commuting and just completely ruined my drive by adding the FlowMaster cat back dual, flow FX exhaust system drone at 65 and up hills is so obnoxiously loud I wanted to crawl away from it. I would not recommend.

I have the Flowmaster Flow FX dual kit and love it. Sound is quiet at idle and throaty when on the throttle.
I guess it’s noticeable when on the freeway, but with the stereo on I can’t hear it.
My only complaint is the black paint on one of the tips is starting to peel.
