2014 DCSB w/ 129k miles 2"lift, 285/75/16 pro comp w/ general grabbers. Elka 2.5 RR Ext travel coilovers on 650lb springs. No sway bar.

Looking for some help to work on this wobble I have been getting at only 60/65 mph. I'll go over everything I tore down, but I can't figure out why (besides a possible shot steering rack) this shake is here.

Only on the highway does it come out to play. It shakes the wheel about 3/8"-1/2". Had my wife with me last night, and she said she couldn't feel it, but of course, could see the wheel moving... This leads me to believe the steering rack along with a new universal joint right above the rack.

I know the bushings on the rack are bad, and two leaking boots are an insult to injury. There is a popping when going over bumps/humps while turning. Typing it all out definitely sounds like a new rack is needed, probably time to bite the bullet.

I just replaced a good amount of parts this past weekend. Started with wheel bearings and hubs on both sides. The driver's side got new UCA bushings and ball joint (JBA). New CV axle from CVJ (new OEM oil seals as well). Removed needle bearing and put in the ECGS bushing.

I torqued all the new parts I put in to spec, so here's to hoping it's not anything I put in causing an issue. The shake was not nearly as bad before all the work was done.

Just had the wheels balanced yesterday, didnt fix anything.

EDIT - used to be running 1.25" spidertrax spacers and took them off after bearing replacement. If that makes any difference.

    Thanks in advance!

I suspect it is your tires. I have the same and they suck. Had to have to replaced because they were out of round from the factory. My shakes happen at 70. You can balance a square tire, but it is still out of round...

They were not that bad before I did all the work this past weekend. I'm going to move the tires around to see if that moves the shake. Worst came Im going to steal my old set that I moved over to my wifes landcruiser. The Coopers were a dream on the road.

I'll cast another vote for tires. I have General Grabber ATX's and every time I have seen this same "shake", even to a much smaller degree, it has always been the tires. Yours also look much more worn, I would assume that is heavily contributing to it. Rack bushing being shot doesn't help.

Previously my issue was solved by a tire rebalance, but not just regular rebalance you need to have them road force balanced. I thought it sounded like nonsense when everyone told me the same but it worked like magic. Good luck.
