1999 tacoma 221k miles. New timing belt, water pump, thermostat and coolant. Hoses are hot on both inlet and outlet lines to heater core. I am guessing that it is a blend door issue. Is there a way to manually adjust the doors until I can get this sorted out?

Getting your head under the dash you should be able to follow the cable. The lever is on theoutside.

If the cable moves something broke..

It has been sometime since I have been under there

Pretty sure a couple ‘blend doors’
I would start with passenger side
Taking glove box out gets you lots of room
You might be able to see both

Does the 99 use a servo motor or is it purely cable driven?

    Good Q

if you have a sliding lever typically cables(with resistance)

If you have knobs that turn without resistance, servos

Last weekend I had to rebuild/grease/clean electrical connections on this one (Subaru 98)
    3 cables

Ok. Is there an adjustment point on the cable for me to make changes? So my ac blows super cold and my heat is not bad but kinda meh. I am in no risk of the heat running me out of the truck.

If manual cable…..anything can be adjusted
Might be a blockage preventing ‘blend door’ not shutting/cable kink/broke/cracked cable holder

got to dig in and inspect

I would just turn the heat/cold knob and stick your head under dash
    You will hear something
Then you know what side you need to concentrate on
    Removing knee bolster trim(drvr side)
    Removing glove box (passenger side)
    Let us know!

Found the problem! This rod/cable was not connected to the door actuator.

Thank you all! I have great heat now!
