    Howdy TW,

I recently stumbled on this listing for allegedly OEM takeoff 17" FJ Steelies. Only $85 each and free shipping!

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/204159797439#LISTING_FRAME_MODULE

    Here's my dilemma:
I bought a full set of FJ steelies (confirmed OEM) a couple years back, no dings or dents but a decent amount of surface rust. I intended to have them refurbished at a local shop. However, they want $125/wheel to sandblast, prime, and powdercoat. So at this point, it would be cheaper for me to just let my current wheels collect dust and pick up a new set from Ebay... assuming that the Ebay wheels are actually OEM and not repops. I compared the picture on the listing to the wheels I have at home and all the details check out, I also messaged the seller and he reassured my that they are truly OEM. I am just skeptical how the seller managed to find so many of these wheels (Ebay says 421 have already sold...) Also in true Ebay style, the seller has multiple listings for the same product with the same pictures...
Does anyone have any experience with this seller or product? Or maybe some insight into the dealer takeoff process and how there could be so many OEM wheels floating around?

    Thanks for your help!

That's about what I paid for mine on eBay not too long ago. My local person wanted $100 to blast and powderccoat per wheel which I didn't want to pay. The factory black on OEM wheels is not great. It will fade and once chips start they will start to rust. I sanded mine and spray painted them with black Rust-Oleum primer/paint. That's the best way so you can touch them up whenever need be. If you go the blast and powderccoat option you'll spend more but might be more resistant to corrosion/fading in the long run. I love my steelies but not super cost effective for a base model wheel haha. 20230825_181714.jpg

My Wuhan FJ steelies held up to road salt much better than the Toyota OEM.

Wheel looks awesome. If you don’t mind can you post a link of where you bought it (seller) ?

They are hub centric, but the OEM lug nuts will not work. You will have to get acorn style lug nuts.
