Got up by the Mogollon Rim this weekend. Diesel heater for the win too! haha.

I did wrap the fuel pump in some foam. Helps so much with the ticking sound. IYKYK.

Does this cause the fuel pump to retain more heat at all?

Not that I noticed but I wasn't checking either. I ran it for about 8 hours the first night and 10 the second with no issues. Had also seen a few videos with this same method used with no complaints mentioned.

What's the topper you have there? Looks pretty basic...which is what I'm looking for.

I used a fuel tank standpipe from Amazon. Funny enough, the top fits the cap perfectly. Just make sure to cut the metal tube with a pipe cutter and not diagonal cutters.

The hose I got from Home Depot. Just some lawn mower fuel line.

    https://www.homedepot.com/p/Arnold-Low-Permeation-Fuel-Line-for-Lawn-Mowers-GL-024/300508739

And then I added a quick disconnect, also from Amazon, thats in between the heater and the fuel tank. That way the tank goes on my bed rack and the heater goes in the bed.

I bought my truck just over a year ago and spent a few months bingeing AdventureTaco's blog. That inspired me to make 2023 an adventure of my own.

Here's a slideshow of some of the places I went (I took thousands of photos, but this is a small sample)
