I have one of these I got some time ago off Ebay, though I have yet to use it. It has a laser mounted on a small bracket that fits onto the v-groove of a pulley. The laser than points to other pulleys to check to see if the groove between pulleys are aligned (ie. the laser falls on the same groove of the next pulley). I learned about it from a vid either by South Main or Pine Hollow.

I checked everything. All the pulleys I replaced are good. I took them off and inspected them. Alternator is good. Power steering pump is good. Ac clutch is good. Belt tensioner is good. Only thing that feels like it could fray the belt is crankshaft and water pump. I even turned truck in and just sat under the truck and just watched everything to see if I see something. It looks all fine. I’m running out of ideas.

I checked all the pulleys they are all fine. All tight. Power steering is fine alternator is fine ax clutch is fine. The crankshaft and water pump on the engine side (pulley) feels like it could be tearing belt. I’m running low on ideas.

This tool is pretty cheap. I have seen people make their own similar tool for cheap. The key thing, if you make your own, is to make sure the hole/alignment for the rod is straight.

Note that "Laser" is the brand - it has no laser.

Edit to also note that when I've seen DIY versions, it was best to cut the two main pieces that mount to the pulleys off the same block after grooving so you know that's "aligned."

Did you change your tensioner or tensioner pulley? If you did you HAVE TO use OEM new parts, or replace the bearings in your original one, aftermarket tensioner parts are a couple millimeters off and will always eat up your belt.

Also, you could try cleaning the surfaces of all the pulleys, make them all shiny and spic-n-span. Then reinstall them, run the truck for a few days and look at the surface of the pulleys. The marks from the belt on the pulleys should all be right in the center of the pulleys. Which ever pulley has marks on the surface from the belt that aren't dead center is the one with the issues. :)
