Quality looks OK but there was no push lock nut in the box to secure the clevis to the lock mechanism .... Off to the hardware store to find one, since the 3 I have in the junk drawer don't fit. Is it worth saving the $120?

I imagine after the 50,000 or so they are contracted to make for Toyota, the Chinese manufacturer runs off a shitload to market for themselves.

    you tell us.
The alleged OE lock kit, looks very similar to other aftermarket kits.

Identical in every way to the OEM directions that I downloaded. I will report back.

I bought the OEM kit online and picked it up from the local dealer for $145 including tax. Not sure why you would try to get a knock off that Toyota can’t back for that price.

Even if it is a good knock-off, there are often savings in the materials. Looks the same, but might not be.
Happy with the OEM I installed.

My truck is out of warranty, so no one is backing a part not specifically made for the 2017. This unit is identical to the branded Toyota unit, why would one not assume it is the same exactly as the OE piece, made by the exact same Co. on the exact same line? I have personal experience dealing with Chinese manufacturers who copy cat identical items.$60 beats $145
