Regular Maintenance Checks for Modified Front Suspension

    2021 Army Green Tacoma TRD Sport, 1960 Mini Cooper
    I have a 2021 Tacoma that has had a ton of aftermarket work done to the front and rear suspension. SPC Upper Control arms, OME lift, Cab Mod, etc. All the work was done by Cali-Raised LED in Texas as part of a giveaway. I am coming up on over a year with the new components and its starting to make a few clunks and general noise.

    I am very capable in the garage with most all the tools I would need to do any sort of work. (I build engines and restore old cars) but have not done a ton of work on modern trucks.

    Trying to a good understanding or perhaps a complete list of items I should go through on the front end of the truck so I can do a service checkup myself. Things to check, things to torque, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    I have found the suspension on these to be pretty much the same as anything else I've worked on going back 30+ years. The big thing you have to be aware of nowadays on vehicles with VSC and pre-collision systems is that the wheel alignment be correct after work is done (if the steering wheel is off-center will cause the system to go into fault mode and turn off), and to be aware of where the ABS sensors & wiring are so you don't damage anything. Other than that it's pretty much same as anything else.

    Somewhere floating around the forum should be a download link for a .PDF service manual for 3rd-gen trucks, which will have all the torque specs for the control arm bolts, shocks, ball joints, leaf springs/shackles, yadda, yadda, yadda and (most of) everything else.

    Awesome thanks for the tips. I really appreciate it and the link to the service manual. That makes sense re: electrical items. Wouldn't have thought about the steering wheel alignment but it seems obvious now that you say it haha.
