Calling anyone who has the little red button alarm system. This is for a Scion but I'm pretty sure it's the same for our Tacomas.

Has anyone installed a remote start, specifically a 12Volt Solutions or N2 Design remote start that utilizes the factory key fob, on a vehicle with the Gulf States alarm system? Will doing so mess with the alarm system and make either the alarm or the remote start malfunction?

Full background, my dad drives a Scion xD that was purchased new in Louisiana. It has the infamous port-installed alarm system that a lot of Toyotas that were sold new in the Gulf Coast area have. I want to get him a 12Volt Solutions remote start for Christmas. The car has the Gulf States Toyota alarm system and I don't want to make it act up.

    Thanks!
