Hi friends. I'm getting rid of my OEM bed cover and I can't remember if the bolts for the alignment piece (in the center of the bed) are part of the cover hardware or stay with the truck. The heads are slightly domed while the others are all flat.

Anyone know? I've attached a photo so if you don't have this cover and your 3rd gen has these bolts, please let me know.

Also attached a photo of where the other mounting hardware goes. I feel like I should protect these threads to discourage rusting. Anyone done this? Or will the plastic rails provide adequate protection?

    Thanks in advance!

I'd leave them in to keep water and crap from going in the threaded holes.

I sent mine with the cover when I sold it. They didn’t seem to hold anything.

My truck came w/o the tonneau and those holes are just that… holes… no bolts in them.

That's exactly what I was trying to figure out. Thanks very much for replying!

That's what I was thinking but I'm planning to sell the cover. However I just got a good deal on a used Diamondback so the bed will be (well) covered. Thanks for replying!

I'm planning to sell mine, too, and I want to make sure the buyer has what they need. Another member here just noted that their truck doesn't have anything in those holes so it makes sense that the bolts are part of the cover hardware. Thanks!

    Edit: Typo

Buy new rails from the dealer at $175 a piece or buy mine for $225 shipped. They came off my Cousin's new Pro with 30 miles when we added a new OEM cover. So yes I have two rails with no cutouts listed in the buy sell trade section.

The don't. But, then again, neither did the bolts for the head rail but those came with the truck even though you had to purchase the head rail separately.

Try to have the buyer trade you his side covers without the cutouts for yours, with the cutouts. A win for you both. Also, don’t forget to give the buyer the rubber grommets from the sides of the headrail.
