Aftermarket MT shift knobs

As soon as I have the time and I can get adaptors amd dual cases from marlin with ease my 16 with have a fj manual tcase swap. Half the battle is already won because we know it bolts up perfectly and functions, the hardest part is the second half, get it all to work like factory with no dash lights on or codes thrown. And I say that's the hardest part by far!
I will not settle for this crappy actuator, I just want a real lever for my tcase. Lol.

 

Just came here to post these as I really like them..
- Weighted sphere shift knob in candy red (matches barcelona red great) from Billetworkz
- Collar from etsy shop Trailbreaker Customs
- Shift boot from Redline Goods

All were fairly easy install.

 

I threw the oem trail team fj cruiser Shift knob in my taco use an Amazon shift boot adapter

 

This looks perfect. What does it look like from the side?

Specifically the “type L” but it doesn’t come in the correct thread pitch.

Trying to make the cleanest looking setup, mainly I don’t want the shift lever showing between the boot and knob.

Can someone with the TrailBraker Customs collar take a few measurements for me? I’m trying to get a custom shift knob made.

 

What measurements you looking for? like diameter and height and opening? I can but I'm also not gonna take the collar off the shifter.. it's a PITA. Lol

 

Length of threads
Distance from where the collar sits to the bottom of the threads

and if possible the size of larger part of the shift lever below the thread. Like how it increases in size as you go down to the collar if that makes sense.

What knob?

 

The TrailBreaker collar is not threaded. The inside has a bayonet mount that fits over the OEM chrome boot cap.

The top of the collar (inside) is large enough that it will slide down pretty far on the shifter shaft. That's why it comes with an O-ring to take up part of the space. I substituted my own flat rubber washer for the O-ring, so that the collar would sit higher.

Anyone have an accurate diameter for the TRD 6-speed ball shift knob? It is 12x1.25 thread, correct?

Yes, but the two do not match.
2.4 inches and 5cm are two different sizes.
Just want a verification on which it is.
