What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I have WhiskeyHole’s RAM mounts that install near the HVAC controls. I didn’t get the backing threaded mounts all that well seated, so getting them aligned when I would pull them was a challenge. I was familiar with what I call well nuts (expansion nuts at the hardware store) from the windshield on my motorcycles, so I picked up a pair to replace the backing plate. I’m only using the right side, since I’m only using it for my phone mount, and so far so good.

 

I have unpainted valve covers for sale

 

And I just turned 90K on my 2005. But, ya, there's a but, the truck was my father in laws (he bought it new) and I got it with just 70+K on it three years ago when he passed away. Sigh...

 

I purchased this at the wife’s request so I have a spot to store it while we are in transit and I don’t need to carry. We have a 17 month old that we don’t want to get ahold of anything. You could leave it unlocked while in transit for quicker access. It also makes for a nice spot to leave valuables in while you are away from the car as well.

 

Finally got a chance to wash it.

 

Power steering flush and a bath.
I would have flushed the brake fluid, but I couldn't round up a pedal pusher.
I would have done hoses and coolant, but the thermostat didn't show up.

One thing I have in abundance is excuses.

Lazy Saturday. Took it swimming. Think it’s time to look for new tires

 

Just upgraded to 3rd gen wheels and 265/75/R16 BFG KO2’s and extremely happy with the look! Got the 3rd gen take offs from a 2023 for $350. Couldn’t be happier. No rubbing from the larger tires either.

 

Drove from San Diego to Big Bear and back… second time this week!

Just last week. Been much slower building up the mikes since getting a new job 12mins. away, as opposed to 50mins.

 

Wasn't today... but earlier this week. Took her in for some much needed service...

• New sparkplugs
• New brakes/rotors/pads on the front
• Oil Change
• Winter Tire swap

Man the new sparkplugs... noticeable difference in the engine. Must have been having some mis-fires recently. They were original so had some wear and tear on them. Same for the brakes - all original. Not too shabby.

 

I could have bought some new SPC ucas or a used set of deavers for what I spent on those silly velcro boys
