Does it still blow the fuse when you shut them off with the switch?

Can we turn off dings and alarms for the door and seatbelts with TechStream?

I previously had the door ding disabled by unplugging the driver door ajar sensor, but installation of the new remote start required it to be plugged back in. Lame.

Definitely seatbelts. Not positive about doors but I don’t believe so

I turned off, or actually removed the switch for the worthless phone charger pad. That’s some point I may remove the pad and install the tray but seems to be a not much reward for a small gain in space.

I did the same after learning they get hot and warp. Besides, my phone is in a case and that inhibits charging.

Why remove the phone charging switch ? Just don’t turn it on.

Because some of the wiring to it is useful for other purposes. Like for me, the power is now an ignition triggered wire for an LED light bar. And the illumination wiring is now illuminating after market switches.

Edit: and the switch location is useful for aftermarket purposes too.

I refuse to pay to listen to some dj running his/her mouth instead of playing music. I can get that for free with am/fm radio. I'll pay for a music service that I can stream that's commercial and chatter free, just the music that I want to hear.

It uses wifi not Bluetooth. Im surprised that it doesn't have wireless android auto/apple carplay. I really wished that it did.

Good luck with your truck ! Once you get the lay of the land you will probably use a few more things . The radar cruise is pretty nice . I turned off a few things also . The auto LSD does take some getting used to but it’s a good thing . As far as things giving you issues, it will be fine . If you take care of the truck it will take care of you . I have a 19 off road and knock on wood be sides the fuel pump recall, and a different gasket on my 3 rd brake light ( I never had a leak ) the truck has been stellar. No complaints what so ever .

    swapped for clean, scoopless hood
Aftermarket head units will solve this way better than the usb dongles. Check out trail grid pro pre-wired for maestro options. Missed winter season sales though

and yeah, it’s either dumb or maybe an ingenious way to for Toyota to cut costs and get rid of old parts that new 2022 and 2023 come with a dated head unit and junk speakers, when other new vehicles come with good audio specs, stock with no mods, but they are easy to swap. Oddly, the newer rav4 prime also only supports wired carplay/android auto with its stock system, and it has more competition!?

I put an aftermarket head unit in my other truck about 5 years ago. It has wireless CarPlay/android auto. I’ve gotten used to it. The oem unit that came in the pickup was pure garbage. The oem unit in my taco is ok. I don’t have any plans on replacing it soon. My biggest problem is having to lock and unlock the tailgate manually. I thought that having it lock with the doors was standard on newer pickups, but I guess not with Toyota. I ordered the oem kit to fix that.

I hope you move it after you disconnect the battery. That shark thing has been sending your position before it was turned off. If you don't move your Taco with the battery disconnected THEY KNOW WHERE YOU ARE! Or you could just use your trusty bicycle that you carry in the back to finish the last few miles of your journey. YOU CANNOT BE TOO SAFE!

You don't need tin foil on the fin. Just wearing tin foil on your head does the job. I KNOW!

Honestly…….it was just irritating seeing that switch & remembering it was as useless as my ex-wife.
