I'm interested in doing it your way with some small modifications. Could you just clarify that what I plan to do would work please? Just wanna make sure I won't mess anything up.

    I have a 22 TRD Sport.

My plan is to cut off the female USB A plug off this cable and connecting it to the harness coming from the radio (yellow to red (power), blue to black (ground), purple to white (D+), orange to green (D-)). From there I'll plug my wireless android auto device and mount it somewhere ontop of the radio so it's not visible. Lastly, use the rest of the converter to tap into the ground and power of the cigarette lighter and wire the previously cut usb end the same way as described above. Is there any other issue with what I've posted? Thanks in advance!

My 22 Sport has USB ports in the central console. Yours does not?

It does, but that's for charging only I believe. It doesn't pull up the android auto. I have the Motorola MA1 to give me the ability to use wireless android auto. The dongle however is visible and I'd like to tuck it away in the dash. I'd also like to convert that central dash port into a charging one so that it still serves a purpose. Wondering if the wiring I wrote about would work.

is your dongle solid enough that it never needs to be reset? ive heard the wireless carplay options all need to be unplugged occasionally to be reset

I've had it for a few months now and never needed to "reset" it like you described. Sometimes it may randomly disconnect, but it quickly reconnects itself after a few seconds.

Another option. I used a USB cable with 90 degree ends, routed it behind the head unit and out behind my Taco Rail where it plugs into my phone.

I think he’s looking for the media hub that you plug into for Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

Thanks, markram, unfortunately that isn't the correct part. Nevada Mike is correct, I need the media port for Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

Call a dealership parts department, give them your VIN and get the number. Then you can shop around online.

kinda weird how some websites say it will fit and others say it won't. i would do as 2020SilverSky suggested and if you do find the correct part number post it on here...

By any chance, does anyone make a switch that fits the media port? I unfortunately have no blanks left and would like to install the anytime 2lo and would ideally like to move the media port out of the way to install the switch here.
