I just bought a 2018 and as part of deal at dealership they put an ARE cap on from another
truck. But they let me have the tri fold cover that was on it. I have a 2005 (same bed length)
that has a leer fiberglass lid that's getting pretty worn out. Any chance the left over 2018
tri fold can fit 2005? maybe with mods?
    Thanks

Welcome to Tacoma World. Don't quote me, but I think the biggest difference from 2nd to 3rd gen is the shape of the tailgate. Usually they aren't cross-compatible but with just a tri-fold it might work. Give it a test fit, your eyeballs should quickly tell you if it will work. Good luck.

Camper shells are not compatible between 2nd and 3rd gen. So reason would be neither are tonneau covers. But I’m sure we all know what happens when one assumes.

I second the test fit. Eye test could give you a quick answer.
