I’ve been running no covers for +1 year. Doesn’t appear to be an issue? I would think that as long as you aren’t trying to create a vaccum and you are actually relieving pressure in the lowers, dirt would never make its way in.

yeah, the ones on my zeb are still on there but there's on on a lyrik that's gone missing. the other side of the lyrik is still there.

yeah, i mean, in theory that's all good and all but there can be tiny bits of oil on there and as we know, dirt gets everywhere. and so does water. :/ so i'm just nervous about that. especially considering how dusty the trails are in my area during the summer.

I think you’re overthinking it but if you really want to keep them covered Amazon or Lowe’s sell “tip protectors” or “screw thread caps” that you can find in the correct size to replace them.

As long as you're doing 50hr once a year (or more if you really need it) You're fine. I'm assuming your talking about the bleeder valve on the back of the lowers? I have customers whose Fox valves have never been covered for years and it's just fine. Lowers are literally just oil so as long as you're servicing them it's all good. Now if your damper has parts missing that's be a bigger issue...

I wasn’t able to bike much this summer since I broke my foot. Now that I’m feeling better, I’ve put new tires and brakes on my ancient GT. Winter, here we come.

All good. I had em on and off, did the lowers service and it looked the same with and without.
    38s don't run them either.

Classic Southeastern trail system right there. Did you ride Waldens Ridge? I was very impressed. Those trails are really pushing the boundary of danger in public parks lol. I'm curious about liability long-term. But if that place works then it will certainly solidify mountain biking in many communities throughout America

The 110 headset is insane. I’ve got one that’s been in service for 8 yrs currently on its third bike and still just works. Spent more for that headset than most people would spend on a bike but is what it is.

I plan on swinging by walden's ridge Friday on my way back home. I thought about trying Knoxville tomorrow, just depends on how family goes here.
