Has anyone tried these tires? They were just recently released and have an improved design over the original Duratrac.

In my experience I use my AT tires for mostly snow off roading as I do a lot of ice fishing. I drive on the lake and sometimes through 2 ft of snow so I need something pretty aggressive. I had 2 sets of the original Duratrac and they were unstoppable in deep snow! However they wore out pretty fast and after about 50k kms they started cupping and gave a horrible vibration in my steering wheel. This happened to both sets and they were on 2 different brand new 3rd gens (I lease) so the cupping wasn't caused by an issue with the suspension as both trucks were only 2-3 years old.

I switched to the falken wildpeak at3w and they are much better on road, quieter and seem to have better tread life/wear. I have 50k kms on them now and have not had any issues. However, they are not as good in deep snow, they dig down quite a bit and get stuck a bit more often than the duratracs.

Thinking of trying out the new RT's but am a little hesitant due the old design's poor on road performance. Anyone give them a try?

I would think the new DTs will perform close to the AT3Ws given the lug spacing is similar. Regular DTs have much wider lug spacing (closer to a mud tire) so maybe look for another tire like that? I think there are a few brands that have come out with wider spaced lug AT tires recently...

Cooper ST Maxx could be an option...
