Recently had all my handhelds start acting up at the worst time. I had broken the Mic on the Midland MXT 275 Radio a day before Top of The World. My back ups the Midland GXT Handhelds began to function improperly. Sucks to have no comms on trails and convoys. I was able to get the Mic on the MXT fixed with the right tools. But the frustration of not having comms for 2 days had me searching for a better back up that was portable for trail spotting and could take on main radio responsibilities if the MXT 275 goes down again. I came across a pre order for The Rocky Talky from Mountain Radios. Seems like the perfect solution.

The mic on the MXT 275 was an easy fix with the right tiny screw drivers which I did not have in the tool kit. The gentleman at the Radio Shack in Moab lent me his sent. In the pic below you can see how the connection came off.
