I'll be in Superstition (CA) tomorrow. If anyone happens to be around, shoot me a PM. I'm bringing a bunch of freebies (patches & stickers) with me!

You will have a badass time regardless of anyone chiming in.. TONS of trails/routes out there so won't be hard if you have a decent GPS...

If you go to the park headquarters or the ranger station in OW, they have a paper version of this map for sale: https://www.parks.ca.gov/pages/638/files/abdsp_Park_Map201704.pdf Definitely one of the better maps for all the trails in the state park area.

Download whatever digital maps you plan to use before you leave. On busy weekends in some areas like OW, you may have service but the tower will be too congested for anything to actually go through.

You might be able to get the above map on Avenza. I use that app for GPS in addition to Backcountry Navigator.

Thank you Des2Mtn, I will print that map and take it along. does anyone have any "must see" places in Anza for the kiddos? Mine is in middle school, so she's becoming more interested in all things nature.

Have fun in Anza! We just passed through this past weekend. Trail conditions are pretty solid. Only one spot that was washed out.

The Mud Caves are cool to see; definitely a good area to explore and cover some miles. Diablo Drop off is beautiful as well but doesn’t really set you up to hit Oriflame on the way out so you’ll have to plan accordingly. You 4x or 2x?

I second the mud caves. Cool hike.

There’s also the petroglyphs at Blair valley.

    Thanks @desertjunkie760
My trucks is 4x4, locked front/rear, 5.29s, skids/sliders/bumper, and on Kings. We are following the weather as this week goes on(forecast shows some rain, but is constantly changing). We hit the mud caves earlier this year, camped in Fish creek wash(about 4 miles in) but haven’t ran Oriflamme yet so we are excited to check it out. Ill add some photos once the trip is complete, thank you all for the suggestions on fun/cool spots to see!

Are you including the Rodriguez loop or just going from the S2 entrance to Banner?

I was thinking of doing the Rodriguez loop(around Chariot mountain?), but i am also aware of some trail damage beyond Oriflamme. I am starting on the 78 in Banner, camping in Tamarisk campground(state park campground). Is there anything i should be aware of out there? I haven’t heard much from others on current conditions beside what is on “OnX” and similar apps.

I haven't done the Rodriguez loop yet but know it can me much more challenging but there are bypasses around the hard stuff.

Oriflamme was very easy last time I went but I haven't heard of any trail damage.

    Hey y'all,
Got a question, If take off hard from a stop I feel a bump in the floor board (Bump Bump), not full throttle, kinda when the light turns green and you dont realize it and take off quickly to catch up, Maybe 1/4 throttle.
I have new U-Joints and a 2 year old carrier bearing everything has been greased within the last 4 months. Once I'm rolling I don't experience the bump. Just noticed it a couple months ago but don't really do much jack rabbit starts so its not bugging me otherwise it drives fine.
I'm thinking Transmission mount? I need to get under the truck and check some stuff out, but just checking to see if I should be looking anywhere in particular or if anyone has had this issue. When I get time I'll strap my gopro under my truck to see if I can see what's going on.

Oh, you can tackle any trail in SoCal with that setup. Oriflamme is definitely worth checking out but there’s nothing difficult on the trail. Even the “rock garden” on Rodriguez will be cake. I haven’t done the trail since last season though so can’t speak about any recent trail damage.
