Great truck and tire combo, is that the TRD lift ? I’m awaiting a 23 sport and debating the lift and what tire to put on my factory wheels or replace altogether

They definitely look great on your truck. I can't wait to get them on, I'm also glad I went with the 265/70 instead of the stock size.

Thank you! Yep TRD lift. I had the dealer do the TRD lift, tires, blackout package and performance exhaust as soon as they got it.
I'm glad I did, cost a bit but it's all done and done right with full factory warranty.

When I was trying to figure out what tires to run a lot of folks on the forum said the 265/70/r17 on a Sport was a perfect combination with no problems on stock rims. They were right!

2.5” OME lift, Koenig Six Shooter wheels, 275/70r17 Nokian Outpost AT, CMC, Nitro 4.88s, Greenlane aluminum sliders, CBI aluminum skid, Greenlane aluminum front bumper, Out Gear Solutions HC rear bumper, Baja SAE fogs
You will not notice much MPG drop from a 1” larger tire, all other things being equal.

The reason people tend to conflate larger tires with significantly lower MPG is:

    1. because their mileage counter is now off, and the actual miles driven is slightly greater than reported, therefore their MPG is apparently less until mathematically corrected.

    2. because when they go larger, they also tend to go heavier and more aggressive (more rolling resistance). THOSE are the commanding factors that reduce MPG.

If you replace 265/65r17 tires with the exact same make, model, and rating 265/70r17 tires and correct for the ~3% speedo/odo difference your mileage will not decrease much, if at all.

I stepped up to 70 series SL tires on a lighter TRD replica wheel. This helped offset the added weight of the larger tires. I have not noticed very much difference in fuel economy. I have tracked my mileage from day one of ownership on an excel sheet... if you stay with an SL the weight difference should be close. The difference in size will make a slight difference but it could take a while to notice that. It's more the tire weight that will make the difference.

Edit: I also added the Rough Country speedo calibration module to make sure my speedo was correct.

Thanks everyone for the input. I ended going with 265/70r17 Nitto Terra Grappler G2's, had them mounted Tuesday evening and am loving them so far.

How have the Terra Grapplers held up for you? I am considering buying them. Are they good on wet pavement?

    back to bone stock.
I'm over aggressive looking tires. emphasis on "looking". 95% of my driving is down a paved road. I shop for that now. I don't do much for looks anymore, not on my truck. form follows function.

I took a 3mpg hit last time I went with some more aggressive Coopers. and they didn't last that long. throwing away money.

I drive probably 99% pavement too. The other tire I have been considering is the Falken Wildpeak HT02's, they have a more aggressive side but all the manners of a highway tire. You may have just swayed my vote to this. Thank you for your answer.Screenshot_20231026_152139_Chrome.jpg Screenshot_20231022_170040_Amazon Shopping.jpg

I had Terras on my 4runner. I didn't really enjoy them. They flat spot easily (4runner sensitive to balancing issues), I had to have 2 replaced (on the verge of 3) because they didn't road force balance within spec, and I found them to be too loud for a 'mild' AT.

So far they've been great. I have about 25k on them and rotate every 5k. Great wet weather traction too.
