    Welcome

Great when all the work and measuring pays off. The time when you actually make the cut is a tough time, leap of faith thing, because you cannot uncut.

Generated income, if enough we can afford some local IPA's. ;)

I guess it is almost good afternoon. Been busy this morning. Brisket is on the smoker with the setting on the smoker to smokeboost. Temp is usually between 180-200 degrees. Going to let it stay on smoke boost till it is time to wrap the brisket. Dinner tomorrow will be huge.

Good afternoon and happy Pre-Gobble everyone! Didn't get a lot done today; spent the morning cutting and pulling safety wire, and inspecting what can come off next. After lunch, I was rattling around one of the cooling shrouds, and because of a broken clamp in the back (of what you see), I actually got one cylinder exposed! The next one wasn't cooperative, so that was it. Still, it's a minor celebration, because no one yet has seen a way the "cookie tins" come off happily unless you pull the whole cylinder.

 sixtys/wannabes/thanks givers. I was going to try and figure out an oil leak on one of the cars today but wound up cutting up yet more dead ash. A tree fell across the neighbor's driveway last night in the storm. I'm not sure what we're going to do with all of this wood!

    Have a great holiday everyone.

I walked by a Jeep dealership and looked at the sticker on a four door with a few options that must have made it very special. MSRP was $79,645. I couldn't believe it so I looked at a couple more, another four door nothing special ($77k) and a nothing special Wrangler (almost $50K). I made an offer on a Wrangler just like it a few years ago and we were too far apart... and the asking price was under $25K at the time.

If they can get that for a Jeep (not from me, that's for sure) then those high priced cars aren't nearly as special as the price might suggest.

@Horseshoez pegged this pretty well (I think) as a B version of the motor. Internet search is not a lot of help, but in an article that I have read before (and things don't always sink in!), from Wikipedia pic following "the B motor noted for it's smooth nose"..... I find a lot of "close" pics, but never quite right. And mine doesn't seem to have a place for that black piece in the top middle of said nose. We DO have that stupid ring in the middle - it's always been hanging around! Until we cleaned up..... At any rate, this is what it "could have looked like" and may have more history than we'll know. It's just going to be for show. That part is certain.

Oh, while looking up a "properly phrased" Google question, I did uncover some guys secret for removing the rocker arms / push rods WITHOUT removing the cylinder head itself. Easier than removing that "cookie tin"!
You just have to keep asking the questions a different way!

Thanksgiving day will be just my spouse and I of 43 years. First Thanksgiving without our GSD "Santino". Passed on heading north to Grandma's in South Bay LA. That traffic just sucks!
We'll start the day with a nice walk. Then the plan is to clean up my Tacoma for potential sale.(Looking a buying a new 4Runner) And then just letting the day flow as it may.
Getting ready for an RV trip to Borrego Springs at the end of the month with a bunch of husband and wives from the neighborhood. They have Travel Trailers, we have a Minnie Winnie.

    Morning all:

And a Happy Thanksgiving to all!

:yay: Got the crossbow all fixed up. It sure would be nice if they included some info. about replacing the limbs, I had to file the limb pockets a hair to get the new limbs to fit and found out about that and how to do it on the computer.
They have small thin 1/6" rubber pads on the straps that go over the limbs, one was missing on the bow I was working on and the other one was loose and getting deteriorated, easy fix, got a large 1/16" thick rubber fender washer and fabricated the pads from that, then glued them on using 3M weatherstrip adhesive, that should hold them on, that was my own idea! I never even read anything about checking on those pads which should be on the straps, now I know to keep an eye on them.
