Damn it. Mine just starting this yesterday out of nowhere. Scared the crap out of me because I thought it was my passenger airbag about to go off. I have a 2008 red sport. Didn't know what it was. Thought it was also my blower fan. But after a while I realized it clicked when my recirculation was on, which I always have on. It self corrected today after about an hour driving with the AC on and recirculation off, i pushed the recirc button and surprise no clickimg sound. But im not gonna be caught off guard if and when the click returns. Thank god for this thread. Gonna buy the acdelco on Amazon too. Thanks to the members here!

Can you post a link to the correct part number you used? We have the same year truck. I’ve narrowed it down to these two part numbers: 87106-04040 & 87106-04050.

Bad motor, happens, try again. Someone else on here went through 3 before he fixed it.

I used a 1/4 ratchet and a screw driver to help support it and keep it up against the screws.

The new one functioned before I installed it but once it was in place it wouldnt work.
I unplugged it and figured I’d just not use recirculate. This morning I plugged it iback in and it works fine now

Wanted to thank all for their posts. I had the same problem, clicking. Although it was clicking by itself or when I had the A/C on. When I activated the recirc button the clicking stopped. Looked up the part number on the unit and was able to find the part on Amazon - $17 (HVAC AC Heater Blend Door Actuator NEW 604109 52494371 15842338 1573513 604-109. ) Replaced it and the problem seemed to be solved for about 30 days. Now it has started to do the exact same thing. Going to take a look behind the glove box and see what is happening again.

FYI - I took the old one apart and found that one of the gears was missing a tooth, so thinking that was the issue. Now that it has started up again wondering if there is some other reason

I recommend using an OEM replacement part.

More info on my earlier post. The Recirc actuator starts clicking as soon as I turn on the truck. As soon as I push the Recirc button, the clicking stops. That will last for about 3 to 4 mins and then the Recirc button goes off and the clicking starts again. I pulled the actuator out again and ran the truck with it out but plugged in. When I activate the recirc button the actuator runs in one direction continuously.. When I turn off the recirc button the actuator runs in the other direction continuously. So thinking that I have a poor quality part from looking at the other posts. Will try the Dorman part. Thanks for all the help. I will try and return the Amazon (made in China) part as it doesn't fix the issue but appears to run.

Good News! Was able to return the part on Amazon. So will try the Dorman part (on Amazon also, for about $30.) If that doesn't work will try the next part recommended>

Unless you want to do this every other year, buy an OEM. I got 13 years out of the 1st one, replaced it and it's working fine now. Good luck with your truck.
