Great conversations going today, I only had time to skim through them while at werk. I'm home, got the woodstove converting dead trees into radiant heat. I need to go unload more wood from Prudence, the bed is about 1/4 filled. It's chilly, 35° and going lower to mid 20's tonight, then only getting to freezing for the high tomorrow. Yuck. 3 more weeks until the winter solstice, I can make it....

It's that time of year when it is too cold for the AC to kick on, and too warm for the heater.

It's been nice, 65° during the day, 45° at night.

    No sign of rain.

    And how is everyone else?

Nothing has changed nor improved for me. Got my booster this morning and now feel like caca. Lucky if it hits the mid 30’s tomorrow with the cold moving in. I need to find someplace warm to spend my winter while wifey stays home to work. #retirement_life

    building inspectors came back today
they crawled up into the attic over my place
then went outside and i heard them talking with the realtor/landlords son
i guess we have mold all over the place up there. inspector said something about having to rip the roof off and redo it plus all of the insulation
so everyone say a prayer tonight that the buyer backs out because of the costly repairs
not thrilled about living in the middle of a mold infestation but if it buys me time for a better plan B then :fingerscrossed:

A couple of rear window decals...
They'll probably jack up the rent to pay for the repairs...

rent will get jacked up if i have to move on short notice to another rental so po-tay-toe, po-tah-toe
hoping for enough of a repreive to buy instead
no way would they start ripping off a roof this time of year. whatever is up there will have to wait until next spring.

You should put a couple of signs at either edge of your property line that say "SMILE, YOU'RE ON CAMERA :D" It wouldn't hurt to put a couple game cameras up too, but the sign alone might reduce some of the dumping on your property.

I've had mine going for about 3 weeks, mostly in the evenings. The electric heat pump doesn't do anything note worthy once the night time temps got below 40°. Do you do any cooking on top of yours? I've been cooking veggie pouches/trays and making coffee so far, I want to try something different.

Time for a big 'Bio Hazzard' sign for the front of the building? I hope that the mold hasn't made you or other tenants sick.

might be. i can park it right next to the for sale sign
i've always had bad allergies and went through 5 years of allergy shots. finished those in early 2020. and my allergies were back with a vengence last summer. my doc said it was unusual for that to happen so quickly. wonder if this has something to do with it as mold is one of my worst allergies after pine and sagebrush
they had the roof redone about 6 years ago. it was some two bit handyman, not a real contractor. took them over a month to do it all. freaking nightmare. i know there is a leak over my porch - ice damming - and sounds like the back side of the building too. i know they took out the original roof vents and did the ridge vent instead. wonder if they forgot to vent the bathroom vents outside and all of the humidity from the bathrooms has been building up in there?

Well the guy was awesome, beautiful "century" farm, barndominium. Great deal and he's going to keep it until I get this 302 motor moved to the new location.
I'm stoked and now heading out west for a tour on the Nationals will be easier than pulling the trailer.

on my way up the drive tonight... looked over at a red maple we put in a few years back.

absolutely gorgeous tree when leaved. evidently a buck tore into that thing last nite. he shredded about a foot of that tree!

they usually go wild on my fruit trees or young trees. never seen one get all fired up on a MAPLE!
this tree is about 6" diameter & 25' high.

will try to get a pic tomorrow. my wife is furious. told her that she is the one who feeds & names them.... this is what she gets for it.

ugh. she said what she gets is that im gonna get out there tomorrow in the 30* and put a cage around that tree.

    yeah im living the dream.
