So I've got a All Pro Offroad bumper on the way, it's the APEXG3N. I want to put a winch on it as well and reached out to AP about winch compatibility. They essentially confirmed everything I was looking at and considering would fit but I do need to relocate the power box so to not interfere with the grill.

I'm brand new to winches. Never had one nor ever looked into one so I'm not educated here so forgive me if this is a stupid question.

But how do you go a out relocating the power box, where and how to be fit it somewhere else?

    I have a 2018 sr5 dbsb

There's an overview of the process I followed starting here:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...cent-into-madness.712981/page-3#post-26473316

That post and the 3-4 following it cover a couple places you could put the solenoid under the hood and a couple places to run the wires.

Basically you're going to find a place to mount the solenoid, and either the included wires from the battery to the winch and from the winch to the solenoid will reach or you'll have to buy/make new ones.

You're awesome, I tried several searches but didn't turn anything up.

There's not much I have zero knowledge base on but a winch is one of them for sure.

Yeah, they're not necessarily complicated but there are a fair number of wires to deal with.

If you go to post 59/62 in that link it shows a good spot to run in-cab control wires or an in-cab controller socket. People also put a socket in the grille for access from the outside.

@Missouriprerunner how you liking the bumper? I'm considering the bumper, could you add photos. Specifically, I'd like to see a pic of the front looking down toward it from a 45 degree angle and same from the side. I'd like to see what the spacing looks like and how far it sticks out from the truck.

I was in your boat about 6 months ago, new to bumpers and winches. There’s a post on TW by @ClassyTacos relocating his winch solenoid.

I followed his lead- same hardware (readily available locally) for the solenoid mount.

You didn’t mention winch brand, but I went with a Warn 10S and their Bluetooth remote option. At the time and maybe still (haven’t checked), they don’t have a true wireless remote any other way. Happy with the BT option.

Crappy pic, happy to help if you have any questions.
