I currently have my son in a forward facing car seat behind the front passenger. Does anyone have any recommendations for an infant car seat that’s fairly narrow? I’m looking for one that’s a quick attach and carrier as well. I’ve got baby number 2 on the way and I wanted to put the infant car seat in the middle next to the other car seat. Thanks in advance!

I use the evenflo litemax. I can place it in the center and still have room for the front seats to be almost all the way back.

This is the slim-est car seat I could find for my kid. It’s not a detachable type but it’s worked well for saving space. IMG_3520.jpg

Usually those infant car seats attach the base to latch anchors and that middle seat doesn't have anchors.
I have a forward facing car seat and that works fairly well but I wouldn't even attempt an infant car seat. I can fit one but either the passenger or I wouldn't be comfortable as we would have to move our seats all the way up to the point I'd be kissing the steering wheel or the windshield. Saved the infant car seat for the Highlander instead.

I just run the middle belt to secure the base. Just as secure as the anchors.

I totally forgot about that. I'm so used to using the latch anchors. Still, after trying to fit an infant car seat in a Tacoma comfortably I just gave up. :D

hard to find a narrow infant car seat. you may be better off getting a regular sized infant car seat, and trying to save space by getting a narrow forward facing seat for your other little one. they should still fit side by side utilizing the belt in the center position

I believe Diono are the narrowest in the industry. They are not cheap and last ten years as they are steel framed. Supposedly you can fit three across with them. I have had diono boosters in with an infant between them. The latch attachment on these trucks is not very user friendly, at least the one behind the seat sucks. What is important to note is I am not a tall individual so my seats aren’t pushed back far at all.

current configuration @ 5.5 and 2.5 years old. I refer to them as Rock and Hard place! None of us are very tall.

Check my build thread...too much to list.
Seen it suggested several times but we did a slim Diono and regular infant seat in the middle using the belt to strap it down. The infant stuff is just inherently bulky and idk if there is a slim option though the Nuna we use the base is fairly slim.

Edit: In the end if there is a will there is a way. I currently use two somewhat bulky Britax boosters and the Diono in the middle when I take the 3 older ones off-road.

    For da win!!!
I love my Tacoma and accept its quarks too. I love my GF’s 4R the same, of course it has its pros and cons too, but interior room is terrific without being a ridiculously bloated big three boat.

disclaimer: I do not have children and the masses have spoken,,,, I shouldn’t reproduce.

OP congrats on the growing family, hopefully all stays well!
