What did you lose? I only lost the middle navigation that wasn't necessary for me.

I don’t really remember, I put the radio in right away but it’s like 3-4 screens don’t work now.
GPS, radio information, apple car play info?
I get tire pressure, MPG, and speedometer now.

The Phoenix company claims all of the information you loose with the Joying unit will come back by using their unit. ‍♂️

Put the Joyinging in my truck last night. I bought this kit for it, but when i Installed it, it made the HU stick too far out, and the trim wouldn't go back on. The Scosche brackets were too long. I couldn't see any obvious way to fix it, so I ended up using the stock HU brackets. It sits recessed about a quarter of an inch with those, though and I could only get one screw attached on each side. How did you make the Scosche kit work?

You have to trim the mounts. There are a few posts about it in here.

Has anyone tried the new Joying head unit yet? I saw 1 video on YouTube of the install and rundown of the features.

I have a 19 Tacoma with JBL and I'm just about ready to throw it away.

Currently have a fix86, focal flax, 1 10tw3, and 2 amps power it all. Eventually I'd love to go to an active 3 way setup but I'm not ready for that quite yet.

Hopefully with this HU, I'll have better EQing, time alignment, and most importantly Android auto. I purchased a Kenwood 958xr for my Integra, and having AA in that is a game changer.

Looks way better than current. I was going to be very annoyed if they expected us to trim those new brackets off of it. Thats going to throw so many new people off with not knowing the faceplate comes off. Curious though if the new one will run Youtube TV. I may just have to buy one.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't. The system requirements are minimal. I have one on the way and I hope to test it out.

Not positive on the last version running Android 10 but the headunit before that that is on Android 8 will not play YoutubeTV videos.

If it works, it works. I wouldn't chase anything for a couple features, let alone become an early adopter of a new version/OS.

I'm hoping, for the most part, it plays decently clear undistorted audio since I do want to add a dsp and a mid range to my Focal 2 way front stage setup.

true. the one thing that annoys me with the current unit is the boot time, having to wait to put it in reverse for the camera to activate. the video posted above looks like that has improved dramatically. maybe somewhere down the road. id wait for it to get to the "US warehouse" anyways. no need to pay customs. I do want to run a sub wire direct to the current headhunt so that should keep me busy when it gets warm. currently 30 out and im not ripping the interior apart if I can help it.

I just pulled the trigger and ordered it after much debate about how to go about updating the HU in my 2017 with JBL. I'll report back once I install it and mess around with it. I'll be using it to run Apple Carplay mostly, not an Android guy as it seems most people who order this unit are.

Yeah, the new one seems super fast. I didn't think mine was that slow until I saw this. LOL... I guess it's a matter of perspective as my old Joying is still WAY faster than the factory AA/CP head unit in my other car.

Probably the biggest thing that bothers me about the old one is signal output of the RCAs. Two things about it: one is that it's way too low and the other is that the EQ has absolutely zero effect on the subwoofer output. I'll wait and see if Joying has corrected these issues with the new version.

I purchased mine last week from China and it has an ETA of December 19th. Hopefully it arrives earlier. I'm ready to pull out my JBL unit, factory amp, and prep for a DSP install.

Is anyone using the toslink/optical out on these Joying units? Are they free of distortion? I'm leaning towards the MiniDSP C-DSP and utilizing the toslink input.

I had emailed them a couple of days ago asking when they expected to have units in a US warehouse so I could order domestic (shipping was free btw and I didn't see any upcharge regarding having to pay a fee to get through customs) and this was the response I got from Joying, "the head unit only can be shipped from China. but it not will take much longer time. we will ship the head unit to you in 3-5 working days after placing the order. "

I just placed the order this morning and have yet to receive tracking info. I'll update once I know more though.

Have you gone through the general settings/factory settings? Not sure of the new layout but the current ones have it under settings.

Any pictures to share of it?

Which version did you get? Haven't seen this occurring with the Android 10 version but hopefully it isn't an issue with the version 12.

Their customer support is fairly responsive if tinkering with the settings doesn't fix this.
