    Hey all,

Admittedly I don’t know much so if I’m asking a stupid question please forgive me. I have an 09 with a manual transmission with 173k. The last two mornings I have had difficulty getting the truck to move in first gear from a parked position. It appears to go into first gear without a hitch but is very sluggish to move unless I give it a lot of accelerator. Once I get it to second gear it seems to be okay & seemingly drives normal. I had the clutch replaced back in February around 150k. I am in Michigan & the past two mornings have been sub-freezing. Could the temp have something to do with it? I start my truck at least 10 minutes prior to leaving so it warms up.

Can anyone give me insight on what it might be?

    All info is appreciated!

Something I’ve never experienced but it’s commonly posted. Parking brake cables sticking due to rust.

    Frozen brakes come to mind.

    Do you use the ebrake?

Is the truck wet when you park it?

Is it in a position you can try reverse?

I do park it with the parking brake on. Pretty logical that the brakes would freeze. I wasn’t aware that was a common issue.

Thanks for all the replies, folks! Maybe this is just the push I need to convince the wife that we need to move to a warmer climate. LOL
