I just noticed something else, and I honestly can't decide if it's truly the best idea ever or if it's going to be the thing that kills egos everywhere:

The 4th gen comes with a purse hanger.

The older Tundras are great trucks. Have been looking at a 2012 myself. Proven reliability and given the abysmal fuel mileage of the Tacoma, you get much more power and room, without taking a real hit on fuel economy. Especially with towing. Tacoma’s are extremely thirsty when towing 4000 pounds and above, on anything but flat ground.

What is so wrong with a "murse"? Just because YOU cannot carry off the look does not mean others cannot!

That's exactly what it is, a purse hanger. Female customers have spoken and Toyota listened.

It looks like less cup holders on the website but the same size. The 2 door has the cup holder for the back seat but no back seat.

Pretty sure that's the same engine my wife has in her 2023 Highlander. It's nothing special. In fact, I dunno that it is even faster than the 3.5L. Maybe it is, but it doesn't feel like it is...or the Highlander is heavier than the Tacoma.

My murse is too big for that puny hanger. First thing I would upgrade right there. Charvonia needs to get on that right away

    It's a "messenger bag," dammit!

Yes I really do carry one, it sits behind the driver's seat because I don't have a murse hook. :anonymous::anonymous:

I really think the forest canvas is so last year however. I was thinking of upgrading to a navy tweed.

I fell for the title. I thought this thread was about what amazing engines the 22-R and 20-R.....

Toyota has always built amazing 4 bangers.

If it carries what you need with you, who am I to judge? This is not the high-waisted wear-a-suit-and-tie-all-places world anymore.

But navy tweed is better than white ... you would have to shelve it after Labor Day.

I've actually had that bag for over 25 years now, it's both my primary work case and my first choice for a carry-on. It's showing it's age, it's torn in spots and is less than professional, but I also haven't found a good bag that has half as many pockets.

It's the cargo shorts of the purse world. :anonymous: Nobody thinks you're cool, but they keep you around purely because you can sneak the good candy into the movies.

My daily wear pants are Kuhl Convertible hiker-style cargo pants, zip-off legs. Nice enough and durable but not office-ready.

But ain't that way we oldsters think ... when it works well you keep it. By the time it wears out the hipster-types have designed the very usable into something unrecognizable.

    <sigh>

Hiking pants are my daily office wear. They're comfy and they do well in a laboratory environment.
