I searched but couldn't find any answers. I'm sure we are all irritated by the 10 minute/door open/unlock auto shut off issue with the Taco's. I've got a 2022 limited and really would like a solution to this...we bought my wife a 2023 Traverse a couple months after I got my taco.. and she's got remote start with no shut off, and Bluetooth CarPlay!

is there really no solution? thanks in advance.

Why would someone pay another $350 to not to have to push a button for free?

I can’t tell if you’re asking why someone would buy an aftermarket autostart or why someone would buy the only aftermarket autostart available that has a highly desirable feature for the same price… Either one is a ridiculous question.
I don’t have this product or plan on getting one but absolutely understand why someone would want an aftermarket autostart and why that feature would be a selling point, especially considering it’s the only one on the market at the moment.

Not ridiculous, pointing out when you open the door after you've already auto started with the factory key fob just push the button when you sit down 1second later. What's ridiculous about that?

    It’s totally lame
All new pts Toyotas and lexuses have this. Spoke to Toyota r&d and they won’t change this. It’s “safer” this way. Meanwhile you can get in your truck with the fob, start your truck, exit the truck with the keys, get back in without them and drive away. Makes no sense.

The old “it sucks, get used to it” argument. Classic Tacoma world. Do you by chance have strong opinions about seating position, steering wheel volume controls or gas cap placement?

No I’m talking about asking someone why they would spend money on their vehicle. Why did you pull your chin spoiler or replace the floor mats or buy a center console tray? Was it because you wanted to? You like the way it looks/functions/adds utility?
Don’t shoot the messenger just because I was sharing updated info about remote starts with you

    1. Chin spoiler, remove it if you have one I don't.
    2. Floor mats are functional, leave them if they work for you.
    3. Center console is one big tray the way it is, why buy something else. Just open it and dump stuff in.
    Hope that covers it.

I think it’s silly it’s this way, but it definitely doesn’t impact my quality of life,,, it’s just one of those things.

Doesn’t bother me at all. I would much rather have to start my truck again than have someone break into it and be able to drive away. It takes 2 seconds to restart it once you’re inside. Why are people in such a hurry? Lol

Well if nothing else, I definitely stirred up some strong opinions. Forgive me for hating the limit and for starting a fight. I’ll post more carefully next time. If at all.

I apologize for my part in the negativity. I definitely could have high roaded or ignored snark instead of partaking in it.
Don’t let my dickery scare you off. People are generally really friendly around here and there’s lots of up to date and useful information along with strong opinions.
Definitely check out the preorder on that remote start. I’d wait for it to come out and see other people’s opinions on it before I bought anything personally though
