I share your frustration of not having a clear vision due to the steering wheel and then the fact that you can't really tell which or even if you are touching ons of the buttons. Thanks for sharing this.

And actually, $30 is not that bad lol

Saving yourself $100 for the same functionality makes $30 seem downright pleasant.

After driving on what are almost 34" tires it all depends on where you live and how you drive as to a regear. Around Indy here (which is flat as a pancake) I hardly noticed a difference over stock tires. Driving south to deer hunt through the hills south of Bloomington was a different story. Wasn't very pleasent running 5300 rpm's to maintain speed.

    Just gettin’ started
Well, technically it was yesterday but I made it pull this crappy tank of a trailer for a 600 mile round trip to pick up some furniture in Archdale, NC.

    IMG_6497.jpg

Empty weight on the 6x12 trailer is 1920 lbs. Return weight was about 2400 lbs.

It was a good way to get to know one of the truck’s capabilities, though I didn’t buy it to be a hauler.

It drank like Nicolas Cage in Leaving Las Vegas, but again, not why I bought it. I also could have been less of a lead foot.

For me, seats were fine, experience was fine, glad to know in a pinch what I’d feel comfortable towing.

Worst part of the trip was the condition of 85 northbound through SC while under construction.

I know what you mean. Living here and driving 85 every day has been awful for years now, under construction or not.

I winterized my truck with the last of my Woolwax cans and Rust-Oleum Rust Reformer. Unfortunately I didn't get to it before the first salt of the year so hopefully washing it was enough.

Overall the frame and body are in great shape. For whatever reason, the hitch receiver is not in great shape. I seem to have to spray over rust on that every year. This year I found some of the factory paint had cracked and started lifting up, which was holding in water. Could be worse I guess.

It rained and I wiped my truck down this morning. An infrequent SoCal natural car wash! Need to wax it this season….

I had to put some electrical tape on my receiver to stop it from rattling around, seems to have saved the paint from chipping as well.

    What was causing the rattling?

Usually people just buy the buttons when they’re not attached to a new car.

Where the ball mount goes into the receiver, it’s loose.

Drove it to the airport and rolled past 10,000 miles. Does that mean it's no longer "new"?
