If that decal is factory just let the paint chill. But seriously you'll never get that raptor liner off if you go thru with the trend of painting your vehicle with it. Any body panel rust repair in the future would be a nightmare too

It really depends on what you want to do with your vehicle. I live in the south so I don't have to worry about rust. I take mine off road to go camping and fishing in tight places where I would get pin strips on new regular paint. It's much easier to paint than a traditional with clear. If you have to body work, it isn't going it take that much longer to grind out where you need to and reapplying the raptor is still easier to match up than regular paint if your doing it yourself. After owning the truck for 24 years and moving away from my daily driver for the most part, it made a lot of sense for me. Not all raptor lined trucks are ruined, especially if you do it right.

I heard they make specific kits for this application, ie auto body paintjob, vs. bedliner.

    for example, Durabak (or others)
like bedliner, except I believe thinner, possibly better priced, and variety of colors and finish to choose from
such as smooth (probably what I'd go with) vs. textured.

    Tan smooth sounds ideal
like what 3rd gens offer (tan) but matte instead of gloss (kind of defeats the point of a nature paint)

IDK about the process, ie prep and whatnot. If it can look good rolled on, or has to be sprayed. That adds complexity. Compressor, paint gun, masking the area, PPE, etc.

How well can you clean out side of truck raptor liner? Rough isn't it?
