    Maybe I should be glad I don't have a garage. What a fiasco @BananaMan

Time flies. I've had the Tacoma for a year! Kind of snuck up on me and I don't think I would have noticed except I got notices about the connected services stuff being shut off. On principle I refuse to pay a subscription fee, but I do like remote start a lot. Well, good news; the app remote start won't work, but the FOB remote start is still good.:yay:

That would be some shit if the remote start didn't work!

I do like my mechanical truck. Just had a guy stop me in the Costco parking lot the other to gush over my 143K mile 10 year ol' truck. My GF rolls her eyes at me but I get comments all the time.

Yeah, the remote start logic is all tied into the same system, so originally the fob wouldn't work when the connected stuff was off, but they got some heavy backlash for that. They originally were justifying it because they never actually promote or promise FOB remote start anywhere. They tried to pass it off as a happy accident that it works at all, but they ceded on the FOB remote start after getting flamed really hard. I think they set it up so the FOB start works for something like a decade? Even still, if it ever shuts off I'll buy an aftermarket kit before I ever give Toyota another dime for something I already paid for.

That things pretty cool. Has it been tested down rougher roads? The road I live on sucks.

Well, I've taken a 520# bike over several hundered miles, this last trip was through the highway interchanges on the west side of Cincy...absolute insanity with construction and no way around lane weaving. The road conditions are among the worst I've encountered, and I'm old. Did wonderfully. The bike is my baby and I would lose my mind if damage occured. I have no concerns after what I've put it through. In the video we're using a 690 Duke which has a stated dry weight of only 329#, which is nice, for sure. My bike is a hog. Did you watch to the end? See it whippin' around the rotary?

    this shit here...

I did see the roundabout run. It looked good doing it. I'm concerned with washboards and potholes, especially because the natural avoidance in a vehicle is to center them. That'd put the bike right into the holes, and I'm afraid I'd forget to account for that. Also some rough stuff going out camping would have me wondering. I'm genuinely curious about the product, but I am also not a likely buyer. I have a trailer and it works for all these worry scenarios.

Legit concerns, but consider this. If your bike weighs 500#, and you weigh 180#, that's 680# before you add the force of traveling at speed. Your bikes suspension is designed to absorb all the force and impact, and, and maintain contact of the front tire. And we know it works or we wouldn't be alive to have this conversation.

When this is installed, 40% or more of the bikes weight is carried by the tow vehicle, leaving (500# bike) 300# on the front suspension, a fraction of what it's designed for. Furthermore, when impact occurs the bike meets ZERO resistance as it bounces away from the impact. No weight of a rider, or inertia of mass moving against the direction of impact. It demands almost nothing of a system proven to meet considerable demand. Hope that makes sense.

Having said all that...I was nervous the first couple times I tried it, but It's proven itself.
