Hi there, I'm looking at ultimately doing the total chaos long travel kit in the front of my Tacoma some where down the line. However I am going to start in the rear I am replacing leaf's and the shocks and I was wondering what some setups that people were running in the rear with the total chaos 3.5 inch lift in the front. It will probably be a while before I can afford either upgrade but I am just trying to price everything out right now. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Primarily I'm looking for just improving the performance offroad and on the trails. Not really looking at doing any super fast stuff or jumping.

Where are you located and who's kits have you looked at? Knowing a budget also helps.

I am located in northern California about an hour away from lake Tahoe. I've primarily been looking at the total chaos uppers and lowers with the king shock on their website. But am really open to anything. Ultimately I am looking to just improve the overall performance on the trails and ideally put it onto 35's at some point without having to move the cab mount. For budget I am trying to do it well but I don't need anything that's really over kill. Ideally I would like to stay under 8 grand for the hole new suspension set up (tires not included).

You're going to be doing a lot of trial & error up front with cutting and a big hammer to fit 35s so just be ready for that. As for the rear, I think Archive garage sells a kit for shock relocation as well as some leaf spring hangers as a package. From there, 12" or 14" shocks will allow the most travel for any leaf spring pack you decide to pick. Bilstein will most likely be the cheapest shock in this length to get you there. This will be a ballpark of $3K after everything is purchased if your handy enough to install it all on your own.

If your budget is 8k reconsider the 35's and focus more on a 33. Yes people will say you can fit 35's by just cutting and banging. Doing it and doing it properly are two different things. I would say to go to www.jdfabrication.com and read about each of there products for Tacoma's. They do a very good job including the reason why they do what they do in the description of each item. There is also a lot of info hear on TW that can be found with a simple search. However, you will have to weed thru a lot of opinions and threads going off topic.
