Agreed. I’m still waiting for delivery of my Tacoma. I’d just like to have the parts by then, but I’d rather they be late and undamaged if that’s what it takes.

 

I just ordered some maintenance stuff (brake pads and a filter) from my local dealers website while i was at my cabin and and they almost beat me home!

 

I ordered parts from Lewis Toyota and they shipped without me getting a tracking number. I called the parts department and the guy gave me a tracking number which I was able to type in on USPS and track my package.

 

Kinda crazy more dealerships aren't doing this sort of thing. Seems like a really good way to get rid of shit collecting dust and make some $$$. I scoured dealers in the NE and couldn't find anyone doing a deal.

 

There were dozens upon dozens of participating dealers. Pricing varied.

I don't think most dealers have a large parts inventory on-site. I believe this was a Toyota corporate initiative that was facilitated through the dealer. I've ordered parts from my local dealer and besides common stuff like oil, oil filters, air filters and stuff like that, they typically have to order the parts to be shipped to them. Now with my first order under this recent special (tailgate lock), I get the impression that the dealer (Lewis Toyota) DID have this part just laying around -- probably from an abandoned install or something like that because it was not in OEM packaging, was dirty/dusty and was missing the actuator.

I doubt that they had the cargo mat and front valance from my second order on-hand. I'm guessing they have to get the stuff from Toyota (usually gets there next-day or in 2 days) and then they ship it to me.

 

Yeah -- the varying prices is what drove most orders to Lewis Toyota. They seemed to have the best pre-discount-special prices already and then had 25% off of that. I've ordered from Evans Toyota during past deals and I found that when there's not really deals going on, my local dealership is pretty reasonable with prices on parts.

 

Dang, didn't catch that. Only saw everyone going crazy for Lewis. Hopefully next year I'll see if there's someone more local.

 

Totally get that. Just seems like it is a huge success on their end and it seems like a great way to get rid of weird odds and ends they might have collected through the year. I work at a bike shop and man BF really helps move out the weird shit that nobody wants but that one dude!

 

Jealous of all the great deals you guys got on OEM Toyota parts...wish they were still offering the sale prices.

Was too busy ordering black friday stuff for my sports car, but now regretting not getting some deals for the Taco.

 

There's always next year... Which is when most of us will be getting our stuff anyway

 

Just got a tracking number for my skid plate. Ordered from Lewis Toyota on 11/22.

 

Just what I wish I would have ordered for $280 for my TRD offroad as a replacement for my factory OEM skid that is all dented up.

Any place still have these on sale?

 

I called them and they went ahead and sent me an invoice and its showing as pending again on my credit card statement. You may want to do the same so that you get that BFCM price
