Yesterday the truck went into hibernation for the next 3 months or so... :pout:

    Just in time apparently:

If you don't mind me saying, I'd top that baby off. Non-ethanol if you can get it.

A dealer friend of mine has an extensive collection of old cars dating back to the 1960's. He and his brother own the family-run Ford dealership in town. It's been in his family for generations.

He says topping off gas tanks as they go into storage helps prevent condensation and rust forming inside the tanks. (The non-ethanol is my recommendation - helps prevent all sorts of gumming up in engines large and small.)

Take it for what it's worth. I understand you can’t fill a tank to prevent all air from getting in but it's given me peace of mind and my toy always starts right up come spring time.

While I'm at it, I live by the CTEK trickle charger.

I bought a pioneer 1000 when they first came out. The wife was complaining about a hot seat, after one ride we pulled into the yard (we live on an access route) and I measured 150 degrees on the passenger seat belt buckle. The winter was the only time that P.O.S. Was comfortable. I should have bought a Viking.

Had a co-worker get hit today while testing a piece of equipment. 7200v right to the chest, exited through his arm. He is ok, but VERY lucky. It really made me think about my profession very hard.

The Tacoma has a plastic tank. ;) I do put fuel stabilizer in the last tank of the season. The truck will get started occasionally during the winter and moved in and out of the garage to work on other things, I let it run until warmed up and dump some non-e fuel in if needed.

I have both Battery Tenders & NOCO units, both seem to work equally well, I haven't tried the CTEK units yet.
For the mowers I run every last drop of fuel out at the end of the season.

Glad he is ok. We all get very complacent in every day task.what others deem hazardous, some of us see as every day. It is easy to do so , but I find these are reminders to do a great job with are hazardous task. you all have a great day

Yep, that's why people in high crime areas invest in tank armor and cat armor.
    Not just the rock crawler.

We’re not lineman, we are on the technical side, substations and testing line equipment. This actually happened in one of the test labs.

Haha no worries, I just don’t want anyone thinking I want to climb a pole:rofl:
I think the saving grace on this one is that he was hit with a backfed PT so there was very little current. Definitely could have been worse!
