My rear axle housing is pretty rusted and I’m considering purchasing a housing that’s in much better condition than mine. How much time should it take to take apart and reinstall the parts into a new housing?

So you just mean to do a wheel bearing and axle seal job, and then to swap in your existing 3rd member? Rear brakes too I suppose?

It took me and a friend about 5 hours to do rear wheel bearings, axle seals, and rear brakes (new drums and shoes) plus a brake bleeding.

So I'd allot a full weekend to do what your aiming to do, since you've also got to get that new housing swapped in and bolted up to the leafs, shocks and ebrake.

Edit: if you've got a friend or two that are willing to help, maybe you can squeeze it all into one long day.
